Okay Then We Hold the World Ransom for One Hundred BILLION Dollars!

As Dr. Evil (in the movie Austin Powers) found out after being in deep freeze since the 1960s, a million dollars ain't what it used to be. The New York Times reports today that, last year, three hedge fund managers made more than a billion each.

These charter members of the "billion-dollars-a-year-club" were highest paid among a group of 25 hedge fund managers who made at least $250 million last year. All together these 25 people earned $14 billion. As the Times points out, this is "enough to pay New York City's 80,000 public school teachers for nearly three years."
