National Employment Projections

Dean Baker explains that the rate of monthly job loss will be higher in the range of 40,000 to 60,000 when the final official numbers come in. The problem is that to report timely employment estimates the BLS has to project some employment growth and as you would expect those projections are a bit more prone to error when the economy is contracting.
